Board of Directors

The Advantor Systems Board of Directors is comprised of leaders in business and academia.

Mr. Todd Flemming

Mr. Flemming is President and CEO Advantor Systems/Veristream.  As Advantor’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Flemming leads the strategic direction of the company, including all product development, operations and technology activities. Mr. Flemming serves as Chairman of BiPac (Business Industry Political Action Committee), a Washington, D.C., based organization-promoting business and dedicated to preserving the free enterprise system.  Mr. Flemming is a member of the executive advisory board of the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Council.  He serves as a member of the board of trustees of Hampden Sydney College in Virginia, and serves as Managing Director of OTIS LLC, a private investment firm. Prior to co-founding Advantor Systems/Veristream, Mr. Flemming served as president and CEO of Advantor Corporation in Orlando, Florida. Mr. Flemming has over twenty years of broad-based management experience in the security industry, including business start-up, design, marketing, strategy, research, development, and manufacturing. He holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Economics and Biology from Hampden Sydney College in Virginia and a Masters of Business Administration from Duke University (Fuqua School of Business), Durham, North Carolina.

Mr. Lou Frey, Jr. 

A former member of the United States Congress, Lou Frey is a partner with Lowndes, Drosdick, Doster, Kantor & Reed. Lou concentrates his practice on administrative law, corporate and securities, healthcare, public finance, and telecommunications.During the 93rd and 94th Congress, Mr. Frey was elected one of five Republican leaders in the House of Representatives. He was only the fourth Republican to be elected to the House since Reconstruction. Mr. Frey sponsored legislation to balance the budget, to fight the financial burdens of catastrophic illness, to protect our oceans from pollution, to deregulate the communications industry, to punish drug pushers, to provide tuition tax credits for higher education and to establish safety standards for mobile homes. He is the founder of the Lou Frey Institute of Politics and Government at the University of Central Florida which over the last 10 years, has become one of the most important Institutes in the nation and recognized internationally. The Lou Frey Institute promotes the development of enlightened, responsible, and actively-engaged citizens.

Mr. Robert Emmert

Bob Emmert is a Managing Partner with McCarthy Capital. Mr. Emmert manages McCarthy Capital’s Boston Office. Prior to joining McCarthy Capital in 2008, Mr. Emmert was a General Partner with Alta Communications, a media and telecommunications focused private equity firm based in Boston. He has also worked in the Investment Banking division of DB Alex. Brown and the Corporate Finance division of Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. where he evaluated investment opportunities for the 1818 Fund, a private equity partnership. Mr. Emmert is a member of the firm’s investment committee and also assists with existing portfolio management. He graduated from Georgetown University with a BS in Finance.

Mr. Curtis McWilliams

Mr. Curtis B. McWilliams has been the President and Chief Executive Officer of Trustreet Properties, Inc. since February 25, 2005. Mr. McWilliams served as Chief Executive Officer of CNL Franchise Network Corp. a wholly owned subsidiary of CNL Restaurant Properties Inc. and President of CNL Franchise Network Corp. He also served as co-Chief Executive Officer of CNL Restaurant Properties Inc. from December 2000 to September 2003. From September 1983 to March 1997, Mr. McWilliams was employed by Merrill Lynch & Co. The majority of his career at Merrill Lynch & Co. was in the Investment Banking division where he served as a Managing Director. He served as Lead Director at Ashford Hospitality Prime, Inc., and  Independent Director. Mr. McWilliams has been Director of Trustreet Properties, Inc. since February 25 2005. Mr. McWilliams received a B.S.E. degree in Chemical Engineering from Princeton University in 1977 and a Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in finance from the University of Chicago in 1983.

Mr. Nelson Ford

Mr. Ford is Advantor’s newest member of the Board of Directors and is currently the eleventh president of LMI. He served as the Under Secretary of the Army from 2007 to 2009. Prior to that, he served as Assistant Secretary of the Army for Financial Management and Comptroller from 2006 to 2007 and Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army for Financial Management and Comptroller from 2005 to 2006. From 2002 through 2004, Mr. Ford was Deputy Assistant Secretary for Health Budgets and Financial Policy in the Department of Defense. He was President and CEO of a medical manufacturing company from 1997 to 2000 and was the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer at Georgetown University Medical Center from 1991 to 1997. He is chairman of the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments’ board of directors. Mr. Ford holds a BA in history from Duke University and an MA in education from the University of Delaware, and he has completed additional professional training at the University of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Nate DaPore

Nate DaPore is the founder, President and CEO of PeopleMatter, a venture-backed, workforce management software company headquartered in Charleston, SC. PeopleMatter helps service-industry locations thrive through better efficiency, engagement and customer satisfaction. Prior to starting PeopleMatter, Mr. DaPore was a principal at Battery Park Ventures focusing on investments in software companies in the healthcare and human resources space. Previous to BPV, he served as VP of Enterprise Sales at Benefitfocus (NASDAQ: BNFT), with consistent triple-digit, year-over-year growth, helping to grow the company from its days as a startup to the largest employer benefits software company in the US. Mr. DaPore is also a private pilot, active in the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) and mentors entrepreneurs for 500 Startups out of Mountain View, CA.
